Dr. Terry Haines is a retired higher education executive and has served in senior executive roles at multiple universities over a forty-year professional career. He has completed graduate degrees and advanced study at Penn State University and Medical School, University of Maryland, Ball State University, Taylor University, and Harvard University. .
Dr. Haines is also a seasoned international university executive having developed extension campuses, international study programs, and multi-national exchange programs. Dr. Haines was the founder of the National Multi-cultural Student Leadership Conference at Messiah College in Pennsylvania and developed the Duffy Institute for Church Leadership at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. He served on both the Mayor's Roundtable for Equality and Diversity and the Quad City Economic Development Committee in Davenport, Iowa; and served on the Board of Directors of Save-a-Life in Alabama.
Dr. Haines has presented at national conferences on non-profit organizational leadership, new university administrative systems, diversity, multiculturalism, international student leadership, and community development, as well as judicial affairs and management information systems in higher education. He has authored two university handbooks on international student programs and taught in the areas of liberal arts, business systems, strategic planning, and human development. Dr. Haines directed successful multi-million dollar fundraising initiatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Education, The Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, and the National Science Foundation, as well as from numerous private and local foundations.
Dr. Haines grew up in Korea, the son of missionary parents. Dr. Haines and his wife, Mary, have two sons (Joshua and Caleb) and live in Overland Park, Kansas.
